First Lutheran Church is a congregation of the ELCA in Manitowoc, WI. We have proudly been serving the Manitowoc area for over 150 years. We strive to Gather, Grow and God in Christ's name.
BASIC FUNCTION
The Office Manager will work with the pastor, congregation and staff to create an effective, harmonious ministry in the congregation. The Office Manager will carry out/oversee all office and administrative functions for the pastor, program staff, the Church Council, and its President. The position will also assist the church boards and committees when needed. The position reports to the pastor and will supervise the Church Secretary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Office Manager is responsible for all administrative work that needs to be done from the church office. The Office Manager will manage the church email and calendar software and Microsoft applications. The Office Manager will also be responsible for managing office technology including computers, laptops, printers and copier, and maintenance of church phones/voicemail system. They will be the alternate point of contact with the church accounting firm and will participate in processing of collections and submission of accounts payable requests. They will also work to communicate with companies to schedule building maintenance and housekeeping services.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of Associate Degree in Administrative Office Assistant field and/or five years’ experience in a position with regular customer interaction. Experience using Microsoft applications including: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. Familiarity with accounting principles and working with outside vendors. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
